Gabrielle Persley awarded a CABI Bioscience UK fellowship

Dr Gabrielle Persley was awarded a CABI Bioscience fellowship at a ceremony at the House of Lords in London on Thursday 25th July 2002.  The fellowship recognises Dr Persley’s outstanding contribution to the biotechnology debate and the support of science in international development.

Dr Persley was inaugurated along with three other outstanding scientists of international standing.  Guests from the government, scientific and commercial worlds attended the inauguration ceremony, which was hosted by Lord Soulsby of Swaffham Prior, with citations read by John Humphrys of BBC’s Radio 4 Today Programme.

CABI Bioscience UK Director, Dr David Dent, said “We are delighted to welcome Dr Persley to CABI Bioscience UK and we look forward to continuing our long and fruitful relationship.”
